Monday, 1. February 2010 20:11

Nike has taken the high road. Nike Dunks have their own unique style, and while some of their shoes look like a pack of crayons left on a stove burner, some of them look pretty cool. And all of them are well made. Whatever you take on Nike being in the skate market, it is nice that they actually took the time to make skateboarding shoes that work well.
Nike Dunk SB’s have been available for over many years now, and come in over 65 different color variations and styles now. Since the Dunks evolution into a skateboarding shoe, the letters `SB` have been added to signify their link to Skateboarding. It’s apprehensive at first about Nike skate shoes, people like the way theyve gone about it. Instead of making cheap crap skateboarding shoes and trying to undercut the skate shoe market.

Nike SB Dunks-A Rare Commodity

Monday, 1. February 2010 20:06

Indeed, it seems that no matter how rare or unobtainable that something appears to be, it is just a few clicks away on the internet. You can get everything from golf balls to yachts online these days. So why not get your Nike SB Dunks online, too?
All it takes is a quick search on your favorite search engine to find someone willing to part with their pair of Nike Dunk SBs. And if they are needing to sell them because they need the money, then you may be able to get a great price on them, too. And not only do individuals sell their shoes online, but you will likely find Nike Skateboarding Dunks available through official dealers or other quality ecommerce sights as well. Once you’ve found a quality pair from a quality seller and put them in your cart then all you’ll have to do is wait for UPS, FedEx, or even the USPS to deliver them straight to your door. That is, after you’ve paid for them, of course!
Of course, the internet does work both ways. This means that not only can we use the internet to find great deals on rare Nike SB Dunks, but that Nike themselves can also use the internet to test market each model of shoe before going into mass production with any of them. This is one reason that the Nike SB Dunk is so hard to obtain: Nike tests out each design in the real world, albeit in very small quantities, so they can get an idea of how a full blown release could do if mass produced.
Perhaps one day they will mass produce Nike Skateboarding Dunks. Or maybe they enjoy having such an elite shoe in their stable of kicks. Whatever they decide, in the mean time, you can be certain that someone somewhere online will have just the Nike Dunk SB that you’re looking for.

Nike SB Dunks Use the Hi-Tech Tools Available

Monday, 1. February 2010 20:01

Skaters know Nike SB Dunks offer a level of style and comfort not found elsewhere. In fact, skaters are not the only ones who have latched onto this fact as many different commercial entities are doing what they can to get a piece of the Nike Dunk SB pie. Since skateboarding is not just a strictly underground club anymore, many people from all walks of life are beginning to recognize names such as DC and Hurley. And who these days can’t recognize a cool skateboarding shoe for what is?
And the Nike Skateboarding Dunks are no exception, either.
That said, just because these shoes are recognizable and familiar doesn’t mean they are easy to get ahold of. The Nike SB Dunks are quite rare and chances are you can count on one hand the number of people you know who own a pair. When Nike releases a new Skateboarding Dunk, they do so in select markets and in limited quantities. And since Nike pushes them as being the best of the best, it is no wonder that everyone wants them. This, of course, gives rise to high demand and low supply, leaving one unable to find Nike Dunk SBs in their local shops. However, the internet can be a viable alternative to getting your Dunks.

The Bottom Line

Monday, 1. February 2010 19:50

Like everything with skateboarding, you should do what you want, and express yourself. If you like the look and feel of Nike Dunk Pro SBs, go for ‘em. I like the strong response and board feel that Nike Dunk SBs give, and some of the colors are sick. It’s also ice to have a pair of skate shoes that can double for other sports – most large puffy skate shoes don’t work that well for other sports. And, to top all of this off, the Nike skate team is very strong with guys like X Games gold medalist Paul Rodriguez.
Nike Dunk Pro SBs work great for skateboarding, are comfortable, and there are so many out there that even your grandma could find a pair that she likes. Not many skate shoes last for three years on the market, but Nike Dunk Pro SBs are still going strong. There’s a reason for that – Nike spent some time on these, and is dedicated to making sure Nike Dunk SBs work well for skateboarding. I really enjoyed testing these shoes out. They get scuffed up fast, and I can see that they will wear out sooner than puffy moonboot skate shoes, but the responsiveness and feel are perfect. I would prefer if they were a little wider, but that’s only if I’m looking for something to whine about. Nike Dunks work – see what you think.

Nike Making Dunk Shoes

Monday, 1. February 2010 19:39

Only a few years ago Nike decided to enter the skateboard shoe market . One of their first shoes was the Nike Dunk. Dunks were originally basketball shoes (thus the name “Dunk”) back in the 80s, but the shoe worked fairly well for skateboarding too, having a flat sole that allowed for good board feel. Since the Dunk’s evolution into a skateboarding shoe, the letters “SB” have been added to signify their link to Skateboarding. Nike Dunks now feature the Zoom Air sole, suede toe caps for better board grip, and nice puffy tongues.
However, since the start Nike has had the stigma of a big company coming into skateboarding just to make some money. I was apprehensive at first about Nike skate shoes, but I like the way they’ve gone about it. Instead of making cheap crap skateboarding shoes and trying to undercut the skate shoe market, Nike has taken the high road. Nike Dunks have their own unique style, and while some of their shoes look like a pack of crayons left on a stove burner, some of them look pretty cool. And all of them are well made. Whatever your take on Nike being in the skate market, it is nice that they actually took the time to make skateboarding shoes that work well.
